WWF LOCKDOWN

Over the Level 4 lockdown period, Kiwis gained a new insight into what life is like for tigers living in captivity - inspiring a proactive campaign for WWF NZ. So as the nation prepaid to re-enter the world, we bought people’s attention to the illegal trade of tigers and how their lockdown often lasts forever. Thanks to folks like Joe Exotic…

The campaign consists of large format OOH depicting heart wrenching shots of caged tigers, with a live count of everyday they’ve spent in lockdown.
Our social posts featured shaky footage of pacing big cats taken from
Tiger-King-esque establishments.

The tactical campaign fed into WWF’s latest platform, Restore the Balance. Through this platform, WWF aim to educate Kiwis on just how reliant we are on nature. Over the past few decades, humans have come into closer contact with wildlife. This is now occurring at an unprecedented scale thanks to deforestation and habitat destruction, the illegal wildlife trade and high-risk food markets. This is creating the conditions that allow diseases that pass from animals to humans to become ever more common. The COVID-19 lockdown is the perfect time to start talking about this issue and engaging Kiwis to help us restore the balance with nature.
